New Delhi : 25 June 2020 The coronavirus cases in the country reached 4,73,105 while the death toll due to the dreadful infection stood at 14,894. India stands at the fourth spot in worst-affected nations in the world. Only the USA, Brazil and Russia are ahead of India. The country’s national capital, Delhi, on Wednesday, surpassed Mumbai to become the worst-hit city in India. Delhi recorded 3,788 new infections during the last 24 hours taking the total toll to 70,390, while the death toll in the city also rose to 2,365 after 64 new fatalities were reported from the national capital on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Wednesday announced that the coronavirus-induced lockdown has been extended in the state till July 31. No train and metro service will not resume during the period. Also, schools, colleges and other educational institutions will continue to remain closed
